The Sensex-Nifty Rose 1.5 Per Cent On A Weekly Basis Despite A Slight Decline in the stock market

  • Nine out of 12 stocks in Bank Nifty softened, Bandhan Bank, Dhanlaxmi Bank and Bank of Baroda declined.


The Sensex and Nifty intraday reached new highs on Friday and finally closed lower. However, on a weekly basis, the Sensex as well as the Nifty An increase of about one and a half percent and that is a big improvement of four weeks. The realty index rose 4.5 per cent to become the star performer of the week. Capital goods index 3%, metal The index rose 2.6 per cent, the Bankex rose two per cent and the only oil-gas index fell one per cent.

Yesterday, Bharti Airtel was up 3 per cent at Rs 31 on the Sensex and Divis Lab was up 3.5 per cent at Rs 9 on the Nifty. HCL Tech was the top loser in both the markets with a loss of more than three and a half per cent. Ultratech sunt has risen two per cent to 31 with a new peak. Reliance closed 1.4 per cent higher at 8,115, giving the market the highest gain of 4 points. On the other hand, the same loss was caused by the softening of one and a half per cent plus of Infi.

Out of the Bank Nifty bars, nine stocks have seen a 17-point decline. IDFC First Bank was one and a half per cent while PNB was one per cent plus. 11 banks stocks were up against 3 varieties were loose. Bandhan Bank was down three per cent, Dhanlaxmi Bank 2.5 per cent and Bank of Baroda 2.5 per cent.
