AmbiTAG-India's first Indigenous Temperature Data Logger

AmbiTAG-India's first Indigenous Temperature Data Logger

IIT Roper has developed 'AmbiTAG', India's first indigenous temperature data logger developed for cold chain management.

AmbiTAG should be the size of a USB device. It constantly records the temperature around it. It can detect '-40 to +80 degrees' temperature for 90-days on a single charge in any time zone, unlike other devices available in the market, other devices available in the market only have data records for a period of 30-60 days. Recorded data can be retrieved by connecting this USB to any computer.

Significance of the Logger The temperature recorded by the logger will help to know more, whether a particular item brought from anywhere in the world is still useful or destroyed due to temperature variation. This information is important for COVID-19 vaccines, organs and blood transfusions etc. In addition to perishable items such as vegetables, meat and dairy products, it can monitor animal semen temperatures during transition.

Who developed the device?

AmbiTAG Technology Innovation Hub - Developed by AWADH (Agriculture and Water Technology Development Hub) startup Sketch Nest.

AWADH is a research center at IIT Roper. It was established with the support of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB). He conducts extensive research in the field of agriculture and water.
